W A Lambrecht (1876-1940) - Boudoir Art

For me this artist's pictures are only just boudoir enough to be included in my listing of artist. But will defer to the author of Boudoir Art: The Celebration of Life (Schiffer Book for Collectors) who include an etching by him. You can see from the picture above; whilst the girls a typically dressed in balloon crinoline skirts with a deco feel, the beau's are bit Regency Galant rather than 20's chic !!

Usually signed in pencil.

Currently my best efforts in researching this artist are bit vague - this attribution is not definite but probably correct. We have him as William Adolphe Lambrecht (1876-1940) who was born and died in Paris. He was a landscape and figure painter, etcher and graphic illustrator working c1915 until mid 1930's. He studied under Gérôme and was talented enough to win a scholarship in 1921 to study at the Salon Colonial des Artistes Français in Paris.
