Following on from Joan and the Fairies and to the artist Freda Mabel Rose. Her name scores quite a few hits on Google, but mainly for postcards. She seems to have been a fairly successful commercial artist and her pictures were produced as postcards in the "Mabel Rose Series" . They are mainly rosy cheeked children with comic title, very similar to the children of Mabel Lucie Attwell. I have found postcards numbered up to 54, so it was quite an extensive series.
In addition to her postcard work she illustrated comics and books. She illustrated a story "The Missing Stocking" for the Christmas 1929 edition of the little known children's paper "Frolix"
From the dates of the comics, books and postmark on the postcards she was active from the late 1920's to c1939. Surprisingly there were NO hits on AbeBooks, so I assume she was not regarded enough to have earned a mention.
